Obviously, the same procedure can be carried out on a mobile device. The app can be downloaded from both iOS and Android devices.

How the PayPal account works

The PayPal virtual account is a rechargeable and nominative account. For online purchases, it can be linked to your bank account. Obviously, before you can use it, it must be recharged and you can do it in three different ways.

  • you can transfer the money from your PayPal balance;
  • also, you can make a transfer from your bank account.

The balance of the card linked to the PayPal account and the balance of the PayPal account are not the same thing. On the PayPal account, you will only find the PayPal balance, even if it is connected to a current account or a credit card. Their balances will be on the platforms of the institutions that issued them.

For example, the balance of the card associated with the PayPal account can know it with the account statement provided by the issuing bank. For example, if the amount of the PayPal card is zero, the payment can be made the same, because the requested sum will be withdrawn from one of the associated cards or from an associated current account.

To find out the balance you have on your PayPal account if you are not at home, you can easily use your smartphone you will receive your updated balance in no time. This service will only be possible to use if you have activated the PayPal Mobile app. Otherwise, you can check the balance via WAP. Just log into your account.

You must consider your PayPal account as a real virtual bank to which you can connect:

  • A maximum of 8 bank accounts,
  • A maximum of 8 credit, debit, or prepaid cards, even of different types;

To purchase goods and services using the PayPal account, some costs must be incurred, instead of both for those who buy and for those who pay in euros there will be no charge, in fact, they are always free. As for sales, always made with the euro as currency, a commission will be required, which can range from 1.8% up to 3.4% calculated on the total amount, to which 0.35 euro cents must be added for the transaction. . If the sale is carried out outside the areas where the euro is used as the exchange currency, the rate applied is that for the currency conversion and international payments.

How to associate a card or bank account with PayPal

Earlier it was explained that both current accounts, credit or debit cards can be associated with the PayPal account. Now we will show you how to do this. You have to look for the item ” connect a card or connect a bank account ” which you will find in the “discover other PayPal functions” section. Otherwise, if you cannot find this screen, click on the “wallet” button, which will allow you to complete this operation. If you want to connect a card, click on “connect a card”, then fill in the form that will appear on the screen. At the end click on “save” to complete the operation.

This code is provided by the branch of the bank where you opened the checking account. Click on “Continue” to go on, then confirm the details of your current account or your credit or debit card. This step will help you to eliminate the limitations imposed by Paypal, which allows you to make online purchases up to a maximum expense of 1500 euros per year, and for collections, they provide a maximum of 2500 euros, always per year.

To confirm this option you will have to click on the bell symbol and then carefully follow the instructions that will be shown to you. To ensure that the PayPal of expenditure and collection can begin, you will have to wait for at least a couple of wire transfers, even small amounts, to be credited to you by PayPal, then enter the statement of the current account or credit card, which have been associated and, finally enter the figures of the sums of the transfers received.

How to pay with PayPal

We have finally arrived at the moment of having to make a payment with PayPal to buy a good or service online. The procedure is very simple and you can do it both from PC and smartphone through the app. At the time of payment, the various payment options will appear, including PayPal, which will appear with its logo. At this point, you can choose to pay with PayPal and you will access your account by entering your email address and password (email and password with which you registered on the PayPal site). You will now be able to validate the transaction for payment and you will receive a confirmation email, which will ensure that the transaction was successful. Remember that if the payment is made in euros, you will not have to pay any commission.

The latter will not be paid, even if you have to send sums of money. To send sums of money you will have to click on “send and request”, then fill in the form that will appear on the screen, then enter the name, surname, email address, and mobile number of the recipient of the payment and then click on “next”. In the field “payment for goods or services”, or “sending money to a friend”, you must indicate the reason for the payment and enter the amount of money to be sent. Then click on “continue” to authorize the transaction. At this point you will have to choose the payment method for the transaction which can be:

  • PayPal balance;
  • Bank account;
  • Credit card or debit card.

Once you have chosen the method, you can click on “send money via”, then press the “next” button, then to confirm the operation, click on “send money now”. Obviously, the same procedure is valid even if the payment is made via the app, both on an Android mobile device and on an iOS device. After logging into the app and your PayPal account, click on “send”, which you will find at the bottom left, then write the email address or telephone number of the person who will receive the sum of money. Click on “next” to continue.

At this point, you can enter the amount to be sent and click “next” again. If you have to send this sum of money to people you know. You will need to check the “family and friends” box, then on the “goods and services” box (if you intend to pay for your purchases made online using the “PayPal purchase protection”) and finally press on “next”. Finally, you will have to select the payment method that you will want to use to withdraw the money, which you must send. Once you have chosen the method. Click on “next”, then click on the “review and send money” button, and finally click on “send money”.

Many companies that provide home utilities allow you to pay for postal bills online with PayPal. To pay your bills online you need to have a home banking service and use a credit card or a prepaid card. The bank has signed a collaboration agreement with the service we would like to pay. PayPal is safe for payments because the card details are not provided to the company that offers you the service, but are stored on their servers.
